House Commission III to Convene Working Committee to Oversee Former Deputy Attorney General's Cases

Chair of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Habiburokhman has confirmed that the working committee (panja) established to monitor the handling of three alleged corruption cases involving former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah will soon begin its work. He said the committee will shortly hold a meeting to discuss its oversight steps.

“Yes, our working committee will hold a meeting in the near future. Okay,” said Habiburokhman at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/7/2026).

Habiburokhman explained that the committee will coordinate with law enforcement agencies in carrying out its oversight function. This includes, he added, any law enforcement activities that need to be monitored by the DPR.

“Yes, since it’s called a working committee, we can coordinate if there are any activities. We’ll be informed and we’ll provide updates, yes,” he said.

Regarding the appointment of a permanent replacement as Jampidsus following Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation, Habiburokhman admitted he has not been monitoring developments. Nevertheless, he gave a positive assessment of the Acting Jampidsus, Rudi Margono.

“Not yet, not yet. But I think for now things are going very well. Mr Rudi Margono is one of the top people, yes, yes,” said the Gerindra Party politician.

As for reports that the name Kuntadi is being shifted to fill the Jampidsus post, Habiburokhman said he could not confirm the information. “I don’t know, but we’ll just see later, yes. Okay, yes. Okay,” he said.

When asked about the Attorney General’s Office’s instruction to all High State Prosecutors (Kajati) to halt examinations of all Nutrition Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG) under the National Police, Habiburokhman said he was not yet aware of the development. “I don’t know yet. Later, yes, later, yes. Okay,” he said.
