House Commission III Task Force Opens Public Complaints Post on Febrie Adriansyah

Member of House Commission III, Abdullah, stated that the Law Enforcement Oversight Working Committee (Panja) will not stop at naming former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah a suspect in cases of alleged money laundering and coal corruption for a PLN-owned power plant, collusion in handling the PT ASABRI (Persero) corruption case, and the debt settlement between PT CBS and KNI. Abdullah said the Panja will open the widest possible complaints channel for members of the public who have been victims of alleged extortion in the handling of several major cases. He noted that the investigation is not limited to the three cases currently implicating Febrie, as the committee is also opening complaints regarding alleged extortion within the Zarof Ricar case. “We are not stopping here; there are many things that must be uncovered, one of which is the extortion that has occurred and is already known to the public. One of them is the Zarof Ricar case. We are opening that complaint channel as widely as possible so that this case is exposed,” Abdullah said in Jakarta on Saturday. To dissect this corruption scandal to its roots, the House Commission III Panja will also schedule a series of Hearings (RDP). Abdullah explained that the task force will summon relevant parties to provide testimony. The parliamentary proceedings will combine both public and closed sessions, depending on the sensitivity of the material and the protection of witnesses or whistleblowers. “We in the Panja will conduct RDPs, both closed and open, so that this case is opened as widely as possible,” the legislator added.
