House Commission III Supports South Kalimantan Police's Hard Work in Eradicating Drugs

Banjarbaru (ANTARA) — Habib Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi, a member of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), has expressed his support for the South Kalimantan Regional Police’s (Polda Kalsel) efforts to eradicate drug trafficking networks in the province.

“The police’s efforts here must be continually supported by all of us, every element of society, including those of us in Commission III,” Habib Aboe Bakar said in Banjarbaru on Tuesday.

He assessed that South Kalimantan is vulnerable to narcotics trafficking, particularly crystal methamphetamine and ecstasy, as reflected in the large volume of evidence seized by law enforcement.

He therefore invited all parties to work in synergy to assist the South Kalimantan Regional Police and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in uncovering and arresting those involved in drug trafficking.

“South Kalimantan is a land of religious scholars, with many mosques, yet its drug situation — goodness gracious — demands vigilance, so we must not be complacent,” he said.

He expressed appreciation to the Chief of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, and the Director of the Narcotics Detective Directorate, Senior Commissioner Baktiar Joko Mujiono, for leadership that has been credited with optimising officers’ performance in the field.

“Keep up the spirit in guarding this nation’s line of defence. Let us keep Banua safe and free from drugs,” he said.

Habib Aboe Bakar attended the destruction of evidence comprising 172.4 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine and 556 ecstasy pills seized by the Narcotics Detective Directorate of the South Kalimantan Regional Police from cases uncovered between 24 May and 21 July 2026.
