Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Commission III, Ahmad Sahroni, supports the Judicial Commission’s (KY) collaboration with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) to monitor judges’ transactions, aiming to keep the judicial system free from intervention. He stated that this collaboration is essential to ensure the judiciary remains clean, objective, and full of integrity. “This oversight is crucial to guarantee that judges decide cases based solely on facts, law, and conscience, without any intervention,” Sahroni said in Jakarta on Wednesday. He noted that judges hold a central position in upholding justice, but lamented that some still compromise their integrity for material gain. Sahroni also mentioned that President Prabowo Subianto has paid close attention to judges’ welfare by raising their salaries by nearly 300 percent. He therefore urged the judiciary to work more professionally. “There must be no more bribery or misconduct that undermines public trust,” he said. The Judicial Commission had previously strengthened its oversight of judges by utilising financial transaction analyses from PPATK. KY Chairman Abdul Chair Ramadhan stated on Monday (13/7) that the data would be used to investigate alleged ethical violations by judges, including transactional practices within the judiciary and indications of money laundering offences.
