House Commission III Sends Stern Message to Acting Jampidsus Rudi Margono: Do Not Let Rogue Individuals Tarnish the Prosecutor's Office
The Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Habiburokhman, has delivered a special message to Rudi Margono, who has been appointed as the Acting Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, replacing Febrie Adriansyah. According to Habiburokhman, the task entrusted to Rudi Margono is not an easy one. Nevertheless, Commission III expressed its full support to ensure the Attorney General’s Office can maintain public trust amidst the legal case ensnaring the former Jampidsus. “Your task is heavy, but we offer our full support. We love the Prosecutor’s Office, we love your institution, we love the Attorney General’s Office. Do not let it be tarnished by the behaviour of rogue individuals,” said Habiburokhman on Sunday, 12 July 2026. Habiburokhman assessed that Rudi Margono has a good track record during his service in the Adhyaksa Corps. He is therefore confident that Rudi is capable of carrying out the mandate as Acting Jampidsus professionally and maintaining the institution’s honour. According to the Gerindra Party politician, integrity is a crucial asset for Rudi in leading the special crimes division amid public scrutiny over the handling of several major cases. “I think he is a person of integrity, he has a very good track record, and we are confident he will work all out,” he stated. Commission III also affirmed its support for the Attorney General’s Office’s steps to ensure the law enforcement process continues without disrupting the institution’s credibility. Rudi Margono was appointed by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin as Acting Jampidsus after Febrie Adriansyah resigned from his position. Prior to this assignment, Rudi served as the Junior Attorney General for Supervision (Jamwas) at the Attorney General’s Office. This appointment was made to ensure the organisation within the Jampidsus continues to function amid the legal process currently faced by Febrie Adriansyah. Previously, the National Police Headquarters, through the Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor), named Febrie Adriansyah a suspect in alleged corruption and money laundering offences (TPPU). The suspect designation was announced directly by the Head of the National Police’s Kortas Tipikor, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, during a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Saturday, 11 July 2026.
