House Commission III Praises Police Anti-Smuggling Task Force for Saving Nearly IDR 1 Trillion in State Funds

The Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), Habiburokhman, has praised the swift action of the National Police’s Anti-Smuggling Law Enforcement Task Force, which acted on President Prabowo Subianto’s orders to tighten the eradication of smuggling and safeguard national economic stability. Habiburokhman noted that within just four days of the instruction being issued, the task force formed by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo had demonstrated extraordinary and tangible performance with a significant impact on national economic stability. He stated that such rapid action deserves public appreciation. “As Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, I give the highest appreciation and a thumbs-up to the National Police, especially the Anti-Smuggling Law Enforcement Task Force, for their very swift, tactical, and progressive response in following up on the President’s order to eradicate all forms of smuggling in the country,” Habiburokhman said in a statement on Monday. He added that the success in uncovering smuggling cases, such as 57,000 mobile phone units from China, 25 tonnes of garlic, shallots, and dried chillies from China, India, and the Netherlands, as well as imported used clothing from South Korea valued at IDR 669 billion, totalling nearly IDR 1 trillion, is a golden record for the police force. “Commission III of the DPR RI, as a working partner of the National Police, will continue to fully support firm and uncompromising measures like this. We hope this momentum is maintained, pursued to its roots, and does not slacken,” he stressed. “Thank you to the National Police Chief and all ranks of the Anti-Smuggling Law Enforcement Task Force. Keep working to protect the law, the public, and the national economy,” he concluded.
