House Commission III: Police Have Worked Maximally to Manage 2026 Eid Exodus

Deputy Chairman of House of Representatives Commission III, Ahmad Sahroni, assessed that the National Police Traffic Corps has worked maximally in regulating traffic for both the outbound and return flows during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr moment.

According to him, the annual exodus moment always presents challenges. However, he evaluated the results of the Police’s performance as positive.

“We in Commission III greatly appreciate the Traffic Corps’ performance during this year’s exodus, even though there are still aspects that can be improved,” said Sahroni in Jakarta on Friday.

In addition, he assessed that the density and congestion still occurring at several points on the exodus routes are consequences of the increased vehicle volume. For this reason, he stated that the Traffic Corps has also anticipated measures for smooth flow.

“A consequence of the rising vehicle volume, and the Traffic Corps has implemented many anticipations such as local one-way systems, and so on,” he said.

Previously, the Police officially closed the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026 or the security operation for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus period, which lasted 13 days, from Friday (13/3) to Wednesday (25/3).

Despite an increase in the number of vehicles, the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, stated that traffic flow proceeded under control thanks to the implementation of traffic engineering, one of which was the national one-way or one-way national during the peak outbound and peak return flows.

“Traffic engineering management strategies, both parameters for implementing national one-way and even local one-way in segments of stage one or precision local one-way, this can split the flow so that we can manage it well; the outbound flow has been passed,” he said.
