House Commission III Chair Backs New Jampidsus to Resolve Febrie Adriansyah Case
Habiburokhman, Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), has placed his full trust in the new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Kuntadi. Habiburokhman supports Kuntadi in thoroughly investigating the case involving former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah.
“I, Habiburokhman, as Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, congratulate Pak Kuntadi on his appointment as the new Jampidsus. He is known as a clean, high-integrity, and independent prosecutor,” Habiburokhman said on Thursday (23/7/2026).
Habiburokhman expressed high hopes for Kuntadi to resolve Febrie’s case. He also advised that the case be handled transparently. “Under his leadership, I hope the alleged corruption case of Febrie Adriansyah can be investigated swiftly, transparently, and fairly until it is fully resolved,” he stated.
For Habiburokhman, Febrie’s case is no ordinary matter. He believes the case puts the image of the Attorney General’s Office as a law enforcement institution in Indonesia at stake. “The image of the Adhyaksa Corps is currently at stake. Do not let the good name and public trust in the prosecutor’s institution be tarnished by the actions of an individual,” he stressed.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto signed a Presidential Decree (Keppres) appointing a new Jampidsus to replace Febrie Adriansyah, who has been named a suspect. In the decree, President Prabowo appointed Kuntadi to fill the position of Jampidsus at the Attorney General’s Office.
“Regarding the Presidential Decree, in accordance with the proposal from the Attorney General concerning officials within the Attorney General’s Office, we can inform you that yesterday the President signed the Keppres based on the assessment of the Final Assessment Team, which referred to the proposal letter from the Attorney General,” said Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta.
Prasetyo conveyed that the Palace handed over the excerpt of the Presidential Decree on the appointment of the new Jampidsus to the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday (22/7). “The plan is for us to follow up administratively today so that the excerpt of the Keppres can be sent to the relevant agency, in this case the Attorney General’s Office,” he said.
