The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has formed a special team of nine prosecutors, the majority of whom previously served at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), to investigate a corruption case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. House of Representatives Commission III has given its full backing to the team. “Commission III strongly agrees with this team as a sign of the Attorney General’s Office’s seriousness in handling the case of the former Jampidsus who has been named a suspect by the office,” said Commission III Deputy Chairman Ahmad Sahroni on Friday (17/7/2026). He urged the nine prosecutors to work independently. Sahroni confirmed that the Febrie Adriansyah case is being monitored by Commission III and the public. “My message to Team 9 is to be independent and to uphold integrity and professionalism, as you are being watched by all parties, both the DPR and the Indonesian public,” he stated. Sahroni also requested that the team promptly present the suspects so the case can be resolved quickly. “Immediately present the suspects who have been named so the public feels satisfied with the transparency of the Attorney General’s Office’s work. We hope this is resolved quickly so the public no longer questions the process,” he said. The Attorney General’s Office has begun investigating the corruption case ensnaring former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. A total of nine prosecutors, mostly with KPK backgrounds, have been deployed. The formation of the nine-prosecutor team was confirmed by Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre Anang Supriatna during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/7). Anang stated that his office had issued three investigation warrants (sprindik) and formed a special team to probe Febrie’s corruption case. “In the new sprindik we issued, we formed a special team for this specific investigation warrant. It consists of nine people,” Anang said. He explained that the prosecutors in Team 9 were deliberately selected based on their experience handling corruption cases. “Clearly, most of these investigators are former KPK alumni. Prosecutors who have served at the KPK,” he clarified.
