Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission III, Rano Alfath, has conveyed his appreciation for the hard work of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and his team in securing the Eid al-Fitr 2026 homecoming and return flows. He stated that public mobility was under control and accident figures were successfully curbed.

“I certainly extend my appreciation to the Indonesian National Police, particularly the Head of Traffic Corps and all personnel on duty, for their hard work in securing the Eid al-Fitr 2026 homecoming and return flows,” Rano told reporters on Monday (30/3/2026).

He described the homecoming as an important moment for the public to reunite with their families. According to him, Polri succeeded in making this hope run smoothly in line with the 2026 homecoming tagline, ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family’.

“The homecoming is an important moment for the public to reunite with their families. This year, safer and more orderly travel became a key factor supporting that smoothness, allowing the public to reach their destinations safely,” he said.

Rano also viewed that Polri succeeded in managing traffic, including implementing engineering, so that the 2026 homecoming and return remained controlled. However, he continued, there was a significant increase in vehicle volume this year.

“I also see that amid the high enthusiasm of the public for homecoming, which impacted the increased vehicle volume on various main routes, Polri was able to carry out effective traffic management. The various traffic engineering schemes implemented proved able to alleviate congestion and keep the flow smooth, thus maintaining controlled public mobility despite the significant surge in movement,” he stated.

Rano also praised Polri’s success in reducing accident rates by 5.31% and fatalities by 30.41%. According to him, this achievement is not just a statistical milestone but reflects the effectiveness of the security and traffic management measures taken.

“I see that field efforts, from traffic engineering to a humane approach, ran well and were directly felt by the public. Thank you for the dedication and hard work of all personnel. May this achievement be sustained and become the standard for securing homecoming flows in the future,” he said.
