Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission II, Bahtra Banong, has urged the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and Land Deed Officials (PPAT) to provide certainty in the timeframe for land administration services to the public. He stated that service reform must be implemented through a system that is faster, more transparent, certain, and affordable for the community. However, he noted that the quality of PPAT services is highly dependent on the system and regulations established by BPN. “Whether it is speed, security, or cost, it is ultimately determined by the system built by BPN,” Bahtra said in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stressed that improving the governance of land services must be a priority. Commission II continues to receive numerous public complaints regarding uncertainty in completion times, tariffs, and the overall process of land services. To address this, he requested that ATR/BPN establish and socialise service standards that include guaranteed timeframes for each stage of the process, from document submission and verification to the issuance of documents. He also asked PPAT to openly explain the procedures, stages, and estimated completion times for every land service to the public, ensuring certainty from the beginning of the process. Bahtra emphasised that service transformation must be genuinely realised and not merely remain a commitment on paper. He added that in the current digital era, public services must be more transparent and accountable and should not be made difficult. “Let us together support President Prabowo’s efforts to present higher quality and more trusted public services,” he said.
