Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commission II of the House of Representatives held a working meeting with the General Elections Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), and the Election Organisers’ Ethics Council (DKPP) to discuss the 2026 work programme and follow up on the results of the Financial Audit Board (BPK) examination for 2025.

Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives, Aria Bima, as the meeting chair, stated that the main agenda includes oversight of the 2026 work programme and follow-up on the BPK examination report that has been forwarded through the House of Representatives’ State Financial Accountability Agency (BAKN).

“Today’s agenda is held to discuss the work programme of Commission II’s partner institutions for 2026. In this meeting, Commission II will also hear presentations from the partners regarding their work programmes, national performance targets, as well as future projections and strategic plans,” said Aria Bima in Jakarta on Monday.

Commission II also highlighted the importance of understanding the challenges faced by the partner institutions, while using the BPK examination results as material for improvement and the basis for decision-making.

Regarding the brief review by the House of Representatives’ State Financial Accountability Agency on the BPK examination results for the First Half Financial Report (IHPS) 1 of 2025 for Commission II’s partner institutions, in brief, both KPU and Bawaslu received an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on their 2024 fiscal year financial statements, although there are still several findings and recommendations related to spending and assets.

The BPK recommended that KPU and Bawaslu strengthen their oversight functions and requested Commission II to ensure that its partners implement the BPK recommendations within six months.

“Commission II of the House of Representatives is committed to supporting its partner institutions optimally, including advocating for budget allocations, both routine and additional budgets, to support the implementation of priority programmes and institutional agendas,” said Aria Bima.

Furthermore, Aria Bima hopes that the partner institutions will promptly submit follow-up reports on the BPK examination results to Commission II of the House of Representatives.
