Wakil Ketua Komisi II DPR RI, Aria Bima, stated that his side will conduct a political safari to non-parliamentary parties to gather aspirations regarding the Election Bill (RUU Pemilu). He mentioned that the plan is for Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, to lead the agenda.

“The gist is that, besides civil society and universities, in drafting this bill we want to hear from parties that are not in parliament. We will go on a safari directly led by Deputy Speaker Dasco, together with the leadership of Commission II and working committee members representing the factions,” Aria Bima said at the parliament complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (24/6/2026).

Aria stated that they will discuss the parliamentary threshold and the limit on seats per electoral district. He mentioned that the political safari is planned to take place before the DPR RI recess.

“We must hear about crucial issues, namely the parliamentary threshold, presidential threshold, as well as electoral districts and the seat limit per electoral district,” said Aria Bima.

“It is clear that before the recess period, we will conduct visits. God willing, it will be scheduled for next week,” he continued.

However, Aria noted that the plan is still under consideration. He discussed another option of whether the DPR would visit non-parliamentary parties individually or gather parties that did not pass the parliamentary threshold for a discussion at the DPR RI.

“Because this is still being arranged, whether we visit them one by one or gather the parties that did not pass the parliamentary threshold. That will be left to the DPR leadership,” he added.
