Madiun (ANTARA) - Several members of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) conducted a working visit to the 081/Dhirotsaha Jaya Military Resort Command (Korem 081/DSJ) headquartered in Madiun City, East Java, to encourage improvements in the quality of territorial unit tasks within the command’s jurisdiction. Commission I member Abdul Halim Iskandar stated in Madiun on Friday (12/6) that the visit aimed to objectively absorb aspirations regarding the real conditions of soldiers in the field. “From the meeting, several key aspects were deemed crucial for immediate follow-up with the central government to enhance territorial tasks,” he said. Among the highlighted aspects was the urgent need for troop mobility facilities. He stressed that troop readiness must be supported by adequate facilities and that his side is committed to fighting for budget allocations in the state budget (APBN) with relevant partners. Another aspect was the availability of housing facilities, which requires immediate policy intervention. “Frankly, in this Korem 081 area, it is quite concerning, the ratio between the number of troops and available official housing is very unbalanced,” said Abdul Halim. Korem 081/DSJ Commander Colonel Arm Untoro Hariyanto welcomed the working visit, noting that much was gained to further improve the quality of territorial task implementation in his jurisdiction. “We are grateful and thankful for the honour of receiving a working visit from Commission I of the DPR RI today. We received a lot of input, direction, and support to enhance the effectiveness of our regional duties as a territorial unit,” said the Commander. Untoro explained that the optimisation of territorial development carried out by Korem 081/DSJ plays a strategic role in maintaining regional security stability while strengthening national resilience. Through intensive and continuous development, his unit can remain present within the community to help address various issues and support strategic government programmes. The Commander affirmed that the working visit from Commission I of the DPR RI provided spirit and motivation for all soldiers and his unit to continue improving performance and the quality of their service. “We realise that future task challenges are increasingly complex. Therefore, input and support from Commission I of the DPR RI serve as motivation for us to continue enhancing professionalism and the quality of service to the community, nation, and state,” he said.
