House Budget Committee Approves Rp 3.1 Trillion Budget for Seven Coordinating Ministries in 2027
The Budget Committee (Banggar) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) has approved the budget ceiling and additional funding requests for seven Coordinating Ministries within President Prabowo Subianto’s Red and White Cabinet for the 2027 fiscal year.
The total budget for the seven ministries amounts to Rp 3.1 trillion. The allocation includes Rp 664 billion for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Rp 304.1 billion for the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Rp 392.2 billion for the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, and Rp 509.3 billion for the Coordinating Ministry for Food.
Further allocations include Rp 338.8 billion for the Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections, Rp 276.8 billion for the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Rp 620.9 billion for the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment.
Banggar Chairman Said Abdullah sought approval for the individual budget ceilings, which was granted by the committee members during a working meeting with the seven coordinating ministers in Jakarta on Monday (22/6/2026).
Said explained that the decision was made to streamline the meeting process, as the ministers had already submitted their requests for additional funding to the committee members and these had been reviewed beforehand, even though no detailed discussion was broadcast to the public today.
“First, we agree that in the discussion, the ministers will of course propose additional budget ceilings in their presentations, as is usual,” Said stated. “And if that happens, so that the ministers do not have to go back and forth to the Budget Committee, we approve those additions today. Yes, agreed. That is the greatness of the Budget Committee; it hasn’t been discussed, it hasn’t been approved, but the additions are already approved,” he asserted.
