House Budget Committee Approves Budgets for 7 Coordinating Ministries, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Receives Largest Allocation

The House of Representatives’ Budget Committee (Banggar) held a working meeting on the indicative budget ceilings for seven coordinating ministries. Banggar approved the budget ceilings along with proposed additions. The meeting was chaired by Banggar head Said Abdullah at the Banggar meeting room in Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (22/6/2026). The meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar. During the meeting, Said outlined the indicative budget ceiling for each coordinating ministry. The largest allocation went to the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. The budgets read out by Said were: Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Rp 664 billion; Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture Rp 304.1 billion; Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs Rp 392.2 billion; Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Rp 338.8 billion; Coordinating Ministry for Food Rp 509.3 billion; Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development Rp 276.8 billion; and Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment Rp 620.9 billion. Said then asked whether the proposed indicative budget ceilings for each coordinating ministry could be approved. All members of Banggar agreed. “Are the indicative ceilings for the coordinating ministers that I have mentioned one by one approved?” asked Said. “Approved,” the forum replied. “All approved?” Said asked again. “Approved,” the meeting forum replied again, after which Said banged the gavel. Subsequently, Said raised the matter of each minister’s proposed additions. Banggar approved the additional budget proposals without discussing them. “Ladies and gentlemen, the first thing we agree on is that during the discussion it will certainly emerge that the coordinating ministers, in their presentations, will also propose additional budget ceilings in the future as usual, and if that happens, so that the coordinating ministers do not have to come back and forth to Banggar, we approve those additions today, agreed?” asked Said. “Agreed,” replied the Banggar meeting forum. Said noted that Banggar could approve the proposed additional budgets first without having to discuss the substance of the additions. “The remarkable thing about Banggar is that the substance has not yet been discussed or approved, but the additions are approved first, let’s bang the gavel,” said Said while banging the gavel.
