House and govt to meet again
JAKARTA: House of Representatives leaders and the government are expected meet again later this week to discuss steep fuel price hikes and the latest bombings in Bali.
No date was set for the meeting to be held at the House.
House Speaker Agung Laksono said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his ministers must explain their decision to raise fuel prices by an average 126 percent on Oct. 1.
The 187 percent increase in the kerosene price to 2,000 per liter, in particular, should be clarified to the House, Agung said.
He said the government would also be expected to explain why and how a second bomb attack could take place in Bali.
The consultation meeting is normally attended by the President, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Cabinet members and House leaders. --Antara
