Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, together with Saan Mustopa and Sari Yuliati, received an audience with the Forum for Advocacy of Non-ASN Teachers in State Schools (FAGRI). The meeting discussed the fate of hundreds of thousands of non-ASN teachers in various regions who have yet to receive certainty regarding their employment status after 2026.

In the meeting held in the leadership room of the Nusantara III building, parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/8/2026), FAGRI conveyed aspirations regarding the certainty of status for hundreds of thousands of non-ASN teachers in state schools starting from 2027.

One of the main aspirations conveyed was the hope that the government would provide clarity on the scheme for resolving employment status, including the opportunity for appointment as Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

FAGRI Deputy Chairman Aminuddin said that such certainty is needed because, based on Circular Letter of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Number 7 of 2026, the current arrangements are valid only until 31 December 2026.

“We are still awaiting certainty on the fate of non-ASN teachers after that deadline. So far, reports regarding part-time PPPK and full-time PPPK have not specifically mentioned the fate of non-ASN teachers. Therefore, we came to the DPR to seek clarity on the status and future of non-ASN teachers in 2027,” said Aminuddin.

FAGRI Chairman Ahmad Farwiz Nasution appreciated the willingness of the DPR leadership to receive and directly absorb the aspirations of non-ASN teachers.

According to Ahmad, the DPR leadership provided a number of inputs and stated that they would push for the resolution of the issue together with ministries and relevant parties in accordance with applicable regulations.

“The DPR leadership stated that they are ready to help push for the resolution of this non-ASN issue in accordance with Circular Letter of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Number 7 of 2026,” said Ahmad.

Ahmad added that, based on data with a cut-off of 2024, there are 172,323 non-ASN teachers who still require certainty regarding the continuation of their status.

Dasco emphasised that the DPR will forward these aspirations and push the government and relevant ministries to provide certainty of resolution for non-ASN teachers. The DPR will also monitor the follow-up to discussions so that the issue concerning the future of hundreds of thousands of teachers obtains clarity.

Through this audience, the DPR affirmed its commitment to continue opening space for public aspirations, encouraging relevant parties to follow up on the issues raised, and ensuring that the resolution process continues to be monitored.
