Lawyer Hotman Paris has urged conglomerate Prajogo Pangestu and President Prabowo Subianto to contribute to the medical expenses of YTR, a victim of three years of confinement and torture. Hotman stated he had seen the victim’s condition via a video call with his legal team at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, describing the victim’s state as truly pitiful. He therefore called on all his former clients to donate money for medical treatment or to the victim’s family. “I advise all my clients, tycoons, and the Indonesian public to donate because the victim’s family is very modest,” Hotman said on his Instagram account. Hotman named several of his clients, including Tahir, owner of the Mayapada Group, Prajogo Pangestu, Tomy Winata, Peter Sondakh, and Franky Widjaja, asking them to set aside Rp500 million each for the victim. He also asked President Prabowo Subianto and his brother Hashim Djojohadikusumo to do the same, and urged members of the national and regional parliaments to donate Rp5 million from their salaries. Separately, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin confirmed that the government will cover all medical costs for the 29-year-old victim, who is receiving intensive care at the Health Ministry’s Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, West Java. The minister said the victim will also undergo facial reconstruction surgery to recover from the violence inflicted by her boyfriend, Taufik Hidayat. Budi added that his ministry is coordinating intensively with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, local government, and related agencies to ensure comprehensive recovery, including medical, psychological, and economic support.
