Hotman Paris Says Raffi Ahmad Will Hold Press Conference Regarding KPK Summons

Prominent lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea has confirmed that his client, Raffi Ahmad, will hold an official press conference on Thursday (11/6/2026). The move comes after Raffi Ahmad’s name surfaced in the trial of an alleged corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance. Raffi Ahmad, who currently serves as the President’s Special Envoy for Youth Development and Arts Workers, plans to provide a comprehensive clarification to address public speculation. “We have agreed with Raffi Ahmad to hold a press conference this Thursday,” said Hotman Paris via a collaborative post on the Instagram accounts @hotmanparisofficial and @raffinagita1717 on Tuesday (9/6). The press conference is scheduled for 14.00 WIB. The main focus of the meeting with the media is to explain Raffi’s position regarding the trial facts that mentioned his name in the Blueray Cargo case. The celebrity’s name emerged during the trial on 5 June 2026. Raffi was said to have visited the Blueray Cargo office in the United States. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) later confirmed that during the investigation, facts were discovered regarding the activity of entrusting electronic goods. “It is true, there is a fact that Mr RA (Raffi Ahmad) entrusted items,” said Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building on Monday (8/6). However, the KPK stressed that to date it has not summoned Raffi. This is because investigators have not found strong evidence linking the entrusting of goods to the immigration processing scheme or bribes made by Blueray Cargo to Customs officials. The case originated from a KPK sting operation on 4 February 2026 that ensnared several high-ranking Customs officials, including former Director of Enforcement and Investigation, Rizal (RZL). The suspects allegedly received bribes and gratuities related to the importation of counterfeit goods (KW). During the trial, the KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) had presented an alleged flow of funds to the Director General of Customs and Excise, Djaka Budi Utama, amounting to 213,600 Singapore dollars or equivalent to Rp2.99 billion. Raffi Ahmad’s side, through Hotman Paris, urged the public not to be taken in by hoaxes or erroneous testimonies circulating on social media before the official explanation on Thursday. Hotman asserted that he would take legal action if there were narratives that tended to defame his client.
