Hotman Paris Resigns as Lawyer for Former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah

Advocate Hotman Paris Hutapea has announced his resignation as the lawyer for former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. Hotman made the announcement during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (23/7).

Hotman revealed that one of the reasons for his resignation was health issues. "I informed my client, now former client, Febrie the Jampidsus, two days ago that I was resigning. But he urged me to stay on for a few more days. However, if my brain keeps thinking and my body is like this, I’m afraid it will get worse," Hotman said.

"So tomorrow at dawn I am going to Singapore [for treatment]. Hopefully, I won’t be told to be hospitalised again," he added. The illness Hotman is suffering from is a pinched nerve. He admitted he has been feeling the pain since June.

Hotman said he had tried various treatment methods, including alternative medicine in Bojong Gede, to cure his illness. Ultimately, he decided to seek treatment in Singapore. "I have told him, because of my health condition which could become severe, I have informed him that I am resigning as the lawyer for Mr Febrie in the case where he is a suspect at the Attorney General’s Office. That is the gist of it," Hotman stated.
