Hotman Paris Raises Rp677 Million for Abuse Victim YTR

Celebrity lawyer Hotman Paris has conducted a fundraising campaign for YTR, a victim of confinement and torture by her boyfriend, Taufik Hidayat. Through an Instagram post, Hotman stated that approximately Rp677 million has been collected. “It is almost Rp670 million,” Hotman said in his Instagram post on Thursday (25/6). Hotman said he would personally hand over the fundraising proceeds to the victim once she regains consciousness and is discharged from hospital. He noted that various parties have participated in channelling funds to help YTR. “The others are ordinary people who gave Rp5,000 or Rp10,000, but they are heroes,” he said. YTR was a victim of confinement and torture by Taufik Hidayat for approximately three years. Taufik was apprehended by a joint team from the West Java Regional Police at a housing complex in Ciparay, Bandung Regency, on Tuesday (23/6) at 18.30 WIB. West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan stated that the suspect had moved locations several times while on the run. “His escape took him to Tangerang. There he was confused and felt unsafe, so he returned to West Java. He was afraid, suspicious of everyone, and did not know where to go, until he finally arrived in Majalaya and was caught,” Rudi said in Bandung on Tuesday (23/6). Taufik is now a suspect. Police have charged Taufik under Article 466 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code on torture.
