Hotels take part in Royal TIME 2004

YOGYAKARTA: The Royal Tourism Indonesia Mart & Expo (TIME) 2004
-- held here from Sept. 26 to Sept. 29 -- has inspired the city's
tourist industry to take advantage of it, by promoting themselves
to as many participants of TIME as possible, including buyers and
the media.

Rumah Sleman Private Boutique Hotel on Jl. Purboyo in Sleman,
for example, invited both national and international journalists
covering the event to a dinner at the hotel that offers the
beauty of Joglo, a Javanese traditional house, on September 26.

"Some 30 foreign journalists and 10 national journalists
attended the dinner," the hotel's marketing officer Rani Febriana
said.

The Grand Mercure Yogyakarta Accor hotel, on Jl. Sudirman,
hosted a Late Night Function Cocktail Party for Royal TIME
participants on Sept. 28, jointly held with TTG Asia magazine in
the hotel's poolside area, from 10.30 p.m. until midnight.

Held under the theme Sweet Yogya, the party offered various
traditional foods, drinks and fresh fruit. The host of the party
was the director of operations at Accor Indonesia, Gerard
Guillouet.

Mercure also prepared five booths for the other Accor hotels
in the country at the event, including those of Greater Jakarta,
Central Java, East Java, Bali-Lombok and Sumatra.

The Grand Mercure also hosted a Welcome Dinner on Sept. 27 at
the Prambanan Temple compound.

A similar program was held by the Jogjakarta Plaza Hotel, with
the provision of snacks and drinks for the coffee break at the
business mart of the Jogja Expo Center, where Royal TIME 2004 was
held. --JP
