Hotels hold blood donation campaign

YOGYAKARTA: As part of its nation-wide "Accor Blood Donation
Campaign 2005" program underway since May 16, three Accor hotels
in Yogyakarta, namely Grand Mercure, Novotel, and Ibis Malioboro
on Thursday held a blood donor event.

As many as 74 blood donors participated in the event that was
held at Grand Mercure Yogyakarta Hotel on Jl. Sudirman, and
resulted in the collection of 54 bags of blood.

Of the participants, 36 donors were staff from Grand Mercure,
27 were from Ibis Malioboro, 19 from Novotel Yogya, and the two
donors were non-staff.

According to Wiwied of Grand Mercure Yogyakarta, over 30
hotels under the Accor flag throughout Indonesia participated in
the program, and was held in cooperation with the Indonesian Red
Cross (PMI).

The program, held during this month, is open to anyone and
will take place in all Accor hotels in Greater Jakarta, Central
Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, Bali, Lombok, and Sumatra. -- JP
