Hotel to donate food to the needy

JAKARTA (JP): Horison Hotel plans to hand out 800 food packages to poor residents of underdeveloped neighborhoods in North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands chain north of here on Sept. 10 and Sept. 19.

One of the hotel's directors, Budi Santosa, said on Thursday that the donations would be conducted in conjunction with the hotel's 23rd anniversary.

Budi said the packages would consist of five kilograms of rice, one kilogram of cooking oil, two kilograms of sugar and five packages of instant noodles.

The hotel is allocating 200 food packages each to the subdistricts of Kalibaru and Cilincing and the islands of Untung Jawa and Tidung.

"We will also donate used clothes, notebooks and textbooks gathered from our employees," he said.

The four-star hotel is located in Ancol Dreamland Park, North Jakarta. (ind)
