Hotel Sultan Still Accepting Guests Ahead of Eviction Execution Tomorrow

Activities at Hotel Sultan, located in the Senayan area of Jakarta, continue to proceed normally despite increased security presence and the gathering of crowds around the hotel area ahead of eviction efforts on Thursday (18/06/2026). Based on observations at the location, hotel operations remain functional. Security teams and staff were seen continuing to serve arriving guests and those already within the hotel.

However, the number of visible guests was not as high as on typical days. Conversely, the presence of security forces remains quite prominent. Several police trucks and vehicles were seen on standby around the Hotel Sultan area and the surrounding Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) complex.

Groups wearing blue clothing were also observed near the gates of Hotel Sultan. Over time, some members of the group were seen entering the hotel premises. Information circulating on the ground suggests that the group plans to return the following day.

A coffee stall vendor in the Senayan East Parking area, who requested anonymity, stated that the group in blue seen inside the hotel area entered through available access points after several surrounding routes were closed.

“The blue-clad group is from within Hotel Sultan because all the roads have been closed,” said Eni (not her real name), to CNBC Indonesia at the location on Wednesday (17/06/2026).

Another vendor in the same area also reported that security forces began arriving from the afternoon. According to them, the police presence increased towards the evening.

“The police arrived starting in the afternoon; by around 14:30 WIB, they had already arrived,” said Roni (not his real name).

Despite the tightened security and ongoing activities around Hotel Sultan, the GBK area has not become entirely deserted. Several residents were still seen exercising and jogging in the sports complex as usual.

As of late afternoon, several tactical vehicles and police trucks remained on guard around the location. The general situation was observed to be conducive, while hotel activities continue, albeit with relatively lower guest traffic.
