Hotel Sultan Eviction Scheduled for 18 June 2026
Hotel Sultan in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Central Jakarta, will be evicted on Thursday, 18 June 2026. The execution is based on a ruling by the Central Jakarta District Court regarding the clearance of Block 15 in the GBK area, formerly known as Hotel Sultan.
Kharis Sucipto, legal counsel for the State Secretary and the GBK Complex Management Center (PPKGBK), stated that the execution date is a final decision that must be respected by all parties. “This is a final ruling. The Central Jakarta District Court has set 18 June 2026 as the date for the clearance of Block 15 GBK, formerly Hotel Sultan. We urge all parties to respect and support the execution to proceed orderly,” he said.
PT Indobuildco, owned by Pontjo Sutowo, has been managing Hotel Sultan. Kharis said the court’s deadline is sufficient for PT Indobuildco to vacate Block 15 GBK voluntarily. Meanwhile, PPKGBK as the new manager also has time to prepare for the handover to ensure it proceeds smoothly, safely, and without disrupting public interests.
“With almost a month’s lead time, we hope Indobuildco will vacate the premises voluntarily. The court also urged occupants or anyone granted rights by Indobuildco to occupy the land and buildings to vacate voluntarily. This is crucial to prevent new issues during execution,” Kharis said.
“The legal process to reclaim state assets has reached its conclusion. The state has pursued all legal avenues, the court has issued a ruling, and now it’s time for execution. There are no further legal grounds to delay the return of this state asset,” he added.
PPKGBK Director Rakhmadi A. Kusumo stated his respect for the execution date, saying the return of Block 15 GBK is a key moment to ensure state assets are managed professionally, transparently, and benefit the nation.
“We are grateful this state asset will be managed professionally. The proceeds will return to the state and ultimately serve public interests,” Rakhmadi said.
Indobuildco’s legal counsel Hamdan Zoelva affirmed his company would pursue further legal action regarding the Hotel Sultan dispute in Central Jakarta.
