Hotel Sultan Emptied, Belongings Packed and Moved to Cikarang
The attorney for the Minister of State Secretariat and the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK), Kharis Sucipto, confirmed that the execution process for the former Hotel Sultan building was carried out by the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (18/6/2026). Consequently, all movable items within the entire former Hotel Sultan building have been handed over and will be stored by the execution applicant, namely the Ministry of State Secretariat and PPKGBK. “So today the process of storing movable items will begin at a location determined by the court, starting with a labelling process by the appointed movers. Today, the data collection, labelling, and packaging by the movers has just been implemented,” Kharis told reporters at Block 15 of the GBK Complex on Friday (19/6/2026). He stated that items from Hotel Sultan will begin to be transported on Saturday (20/6/2026). Currently, removal officers are conducting labelling and data collection inside each building, meaning screening within the former Hotel Sultan building is still ongoing. In other words, the process of moving the movable items has not yet commenced today (19/6/2026). The plan is that once these items are ready, they will be immediately dispatched to warehouses in the Bekasi Regency area, specifically Cikarang. The target is for the removal of items to be completed within one month. “The warehouses are in Cikarang, two warehouses in the same regency of Bekasi,” he explained. Regarding the shipment, PPKGBK has coordinated with the National Police Traffic Directorate and the mover team. Truck movements have also been carefully planned and will certainly not disrupt traffic flow around the former Hotel Sultan area. As a result, it is expected that all buildings in the Block 15 area of the former Hotel Sultan will be empty. He elaborated that the removal of items will begin in the morning tomorrow for packaging and moving. PPKGBK will also monitor the movers’ schedules regarding their availability to immediately transport and deliver the items. Kharis mentioned that the process of moving movable items not attached to the building will follow the court ruling. The mover team is trusted to have special expertise to package and store items according to procedure. Referring to the court decision, the storage will be carried out as best as possible in accordance with the provisions, which is for six months. Meanwhile, Head of the PPKGBK Accounting Division, Afrizal Prasetyo Hananto, stated that the majority of items to be transported or taken from the Hotel Sultan building are furniture and fixtures. These items will be placed into the prepared warehouses. “Essentially, these items do not disrupt the operation of this building. If items disrupt operations, we do not take or move them. For example, air conditioners or lights that support operations will remain in this building,” Afrizal emphasized. He added that the Grand Piano inside the former Hotel Sultan building will also be moved. For this purpose, the mover has coordinated with the Grand Piano’s vendor, Yamaha. In this case, the mover will request assistance from the vendor to dismantle the Grand Piano from the Hotel Sultan building. The removal process is confirmed to prioritise safety.
