JAKARTA - Hotel Sultan in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Central Jakarta, will be managed by the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK). Previously, the hotel was operated by Pontjo Sutowo’s company, PT Indobuildco.

PPKGBK Director Rakhmadi A. Kusumo stated that the agency respects the court’s execution date. “We are grateful that this state asset will now be professionally managed. The proceeds will return to the state and ultimately serve the public interest,” he said on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

State Secretary Minister’s Legal Representative and PPKGBK’s counsel Kharis Sucipto said various aspects are being prepared for the management transition. “All aspects—legal, technical, administrative and others—are being addressed. The preparations aim to secure the state asset,” he said on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

The hotel’s eviction is scheduled for Thursday, 18 June 2026, following a Central Jakarta District Court ruling on clearing Block 15 of GBK, formerly the Hotel Sultan site.

Kharis added that the court’s notice of execution, dated 19 May 2026, was sent to PT Indobuildco via registered mail. He noted the one-month deadline allows the company to vacate voluntarily. “We hope Indobuildco will comply. The court also urged occupants or anyone with rights from Indobuildco to vacate to avoid complications during execution,” he said.

PT Indobuildco’s legal counsel Hamdan Zoelva, former Constitutional Court Chief Justice, affirmed the company will pursue legal remedies. He stated the case is still ongoing despite the court’s eviction order, with appeals and cassation proceedings underway.
