InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) stated that hotel occupancy in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, has reached 100 percent ahead of the running event at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit on 11-12 July 2026. “Occupancy rates at a number of hotels in The Mandalika area have shown a significant increase,” said The Mandalika General Manager Pari Wijaya in Central Lombok on Wednesday. He noted that occupancy at several hotels, such as Raja Kuta Hotel Mandalika, Montana Oceanside Mandalika, and JM Hotel, has already hit 100 percent. Meanwhile, the occupancy rates at Pullman Lombok Merujani Hotel and Novotel Lombok have exceeded 90 percent. “The high enthusiasm of participants is a positive signal for sport tourism while also reinforcing the area’s readiness to welcome 9,000 runners from various regions in Indonesia and abroad,” he said. As the developer and manager of the area, ITDC is ensuring that all operational aspects have entered the final checking stage to provide a safe, comfortable, and well-prepared environment for one of Indonesia’s largest sport tourism events. Various preparations have been carried out comprehensively, ranging from optimising area infrastructure and improving environmental quality to strengthening security measures. “One of the main focuses this year is the rehabilitation and optimisation of the lighting system, including solar cell lamps at several points in the area to ensure they function optimally again,” he said. This effort aims to improve lighting quality to support the safety and comfort of participants, particularly during the preparation and execution of the race. In addition, ITDC is intensifying area cleaning, landscape arrangement, public facility maintenance, utility checks, and technical coordination with the organising committee and all stakeholders to ensure all facilities are ready for use during the event. “The high hotel occupancy rate ahead of the Pocari Sweat Run Lombok 2026 demonstrates the growing appeal of The Mandalika as a national sport tourism destination,” he said.
