Hotel gutted by fire in Bogor
BOGOR (JP): A fire gutted Sempur Kencana Hotel in Bogor's Sempur district Sunday night, but no casualties were reported.
The local fire department estimated yesterday the fire had caused about Rp 300 million (US$113,207) damage.
The fire, which started at 9:30 p.m., was extinguished at 11:30 p.m. by seven fire engines, Antara reported.
There were only 30 guests in the hotel at the time of the fire and they fled in panic when they realized the building was on fire.
The hotel's owner, A. Siswa, said the fire was believed to have been caused by a short circuit.
Local police are still investigating the cause of the fire. (hhr)
