Hospital to be constructed
BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: The government will soon build a Rp 6 billion (US$2.5 million) hospital in Liwa district, West Lampung regency, Antara reported yesterday.
Asian Development Bank aid will fund the project, according to Dr. Deddy Rusweni, the head of the provincial office of the Ministry of Health. Construction will start today in Liwa, some 250 km west of here.
The hospital will be built on a nine-hectare plot and will be equipped with other supporting facilities including a dormitory for doctors. It will have 200 rooms.
Four years ago, Liwa was shaken by an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale. More than 200 people died in the disaster, and hundreds of buildings were destroyed. (swe)
