Hospital seminar to be held
JAKARTA: A two-day seminar on "proactive" hospitals is to be held at Lippo Karawaci hospital next week to discuss ways of developing accessible and effective public medical care, a Ministry of Health official said yesterday.
Director General of Medical Care Soejoga described proactive hospitals as those that act promptly and adapt to patients' individual needs.
The concept aims to address the needs of better-educated and more demanding patients seeking affordable but high-quality medical care in their localities.
There are currently 1,033 hospitals of various grades and ownership structures. Half are state-owned, according to an official statement.
Soejoga said eight ministers, the director general of public health development and himself would speak at the seminar. Vice President Try Sutrisno is scheduled to open it on Tuesday. (01)
