Hospital receives ISO 9002
JAKARTA (JP): Privately run Mitra Keluarga Hospital has been
awarded with the ISO 9002 for meeting international quality
health care standards.
The East Jakarta hospital is the first Indonesian hospital to
receive the international certification.
The hospital's marketing manager, Rudy Cahyadi, said here
yesterday that the Switzerland-based Societe Generale de
Surveillance (SGS) granted the certification after conducting an
in-depth examination at the hospital last month.
"We received the ISO 9002 certificate from the certification
company on Nov. 28, or about a week after the inspection," he
said.
Rudy said the inspection team, which included SGS Indonesia
president Eric Roger and two auditors from New Zealand and
Singapore, examined "almost every single tool and service
available in our hospital".
"The examination covered our operating procedures, doctors,
nurses, administration staff, admission fees and how we treated
patients that are ready to leave the hospital," he said.
Rudy, however, could not give details about how much money his
hospital had spent during the ISO certification process.
"I have no idea about the price," he said. "The problem is it
isn't easy to receive the accreditation even though your company
might have enough financial sources to invite the SGS team."
The private hospital is managed by PT Putramas Muliasantosa, a
joint venture between PT Enseval of the Kalbe group and their
foreign partner, Health Care of Australia.
Putramas Muliasantosa president Walter Kmet said that the
group had made the commitment to earn the ISO 9002 accreditation
18 months ago. (bsr)
