Hospital Partners with Foreign Experts to Prevent Congenital Abnormalities in Infants

The President Director of RSAB Harapan Kita, Reni Wigati, has announced the success of the first open fetal surgery performed in Indonesia to treat a fetus in the womb.

Conducted in partnership with Mater Mothers’ Hospital Australia, the surgery for the myelomeningocele case is expected to promote independence in maternal and child healthcare services. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from Mater Mothers’ Hospital Australia to the medical staff at RSAB Harapan Kita and other relevant institutions.

RSAB Harapan Kita continues to develop programmes to strengthen the maternal and child healthcare system to address various issues related to infant morbidity and congenital abnormalities, such as congenital heart defects.
