Horticultural expo in Pasar Minggu

JAKARTA (JP): The city's agricultural office in cooperation
with related agencies will hold a horticultural exhibition at the
Ragunan Camping Ground in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta from Dec. 6
to 15.

The office's head, Ruchiyat Padmakusumah, said yesterday the
exhibition's participants would include farmers, tertiary
institutions, researchers, state-run companies and agencies plus
private agricultural enterprises.

He said other programs including a seminar, a business contact
meeting, a painting contest, a photo contest and a fun bike
competition would also be featured.

Ruchiyat said the committee picked Pasar Minggu as the site
because the area was one of the city's horticultural centers and
had major water catchment.

He said Pasar Minggu was being designed as one of the city's
major horticultural tourism sites because there were many "agra-
tourism" attractions there like the Ragunan Zoo, the Orchid
Garden, camping grounds and a horticultural seedling garden.
