Horror Brawl Kills MBG Employee in Bogor

An employee of an MBG kitchen in Cikarang, Bekasi, identified by the initials MHF (21), became the victim of a machete attack by brawlers in Tanahsareal, Bogor City. The perpetrators have been arrested. The brawl involved three gang factions and resulted in the death of the young man who worked for the MBG programme. “That is correct. The modus operandi was a brawl; the victim was slashed and died. The victim’s initials are MHF, aged 21. He was not a student; he was already working at one of the MBG kitchens in Cikarang,” said Tanahsareal Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, First Inspector Roy Siagian, when asked for confirmation on Monday (15/6/2026). Roy stated the brawl occurred between gangs from the Yasmin, Cimanggu, and Tanahsareal areas in Tanahsareal District during the early hours of Sunday (14/6). The victim was allegedly targeted by the brawlers as he passed through the location with his younger sibling. The machete attack was triggered by the victim sounding his horn at the brawlers. “At that time, the victim was passing by. The attack was triggered because the victim honked his horn at the brawlers. He was heading home with his younger sibling on a motorbike, trying to pass through Kebon Pedes and went past the people brawling, so he honked. The perpetrators assumed he might be from one of the brawling groups, so they immediately hacked him,” Roy explained. Roy mentioned the victim was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead. The victim sustained multiple slash wounds to the head, back, and arms. “There were six slash points on the back, hands, and shoulder. I went to the hospital yesterday and checked; there were six visible slash wounds, including on the head,” Roy said. Roy stated that his unit has now arrested seven people suspected of involvement in the brawl. Of the seven, three are the perpetrators of the slashing and four are witnesses. “A total of seven people have been detained. We have named three as perpetrators and four as witnesses. Of these four witnesses, two participated in the brawl at the time, and two met up after the incident and have been sent home,” Roy said. Roy noted the victim did not know the perpetrators. At the time, the victim encountered a number of youths involved in the brawl and became a target of the machete attack. “He works at an MBG kitchen in Cikarang. That night, he was just returning home and passed through the brawl location. According to his family, he was not involved in the brawl, and the perpetrators also did not know him,” he revealed. “He was going to his aunt’s house; many of his family members live in Kebon Pedes. When he was about to go home with his younger sibling, he rode his motorbike through Kebon Pedes and passed the people brawling, so he honked,” he added. Roy further explained that at the time the victim passed by, a brawl involving three groups of youths was underway. The brawlers were gang factions from Jasmin, Cimanggu, and Kebon Pedes. “So there were three gang groups: the Jasmin gang, the Cimanggu gang, and the Kebon Pedes gang. The Jasmin and Cimanggu gangs joined forces against the Kebon Pedes gang. We received information the incident occurred at 3.30 am Western Indonesia Time,” Roy said.
