Hoping for quick Aceh solution

The war in Aceh is the government's last resort to solve the
Aceh crisis. The Presidential Decree No 28/2003 on the declara
tion of martial law in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, has obtained
approval from the House of Representatives and broad segments of
the society.

As an Indonesian citizen, I take pity on the fate of the Aceh
nese, the Indonesian soldiers deployed in Aceh and those Acehnese
that, out of ignorance or because of intimidation, have supported
the Free Aceh Movement.

We, Indonesians, must unite to support the integrated opera
tion now going on in Aceh, in accordance with our respective
capacity to ensure an immediate solution to the Aceh issue.

The quicker the solution, the more quickly the Acehnese can be
freed from their suffering and begin rebuilding.

It is everybody's wish all over the country that peace will
prevail in Aceh soon.
