Hooray! Free Rides on MRT, TransJakarta, and LRT Today

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has announced that all modes of public transportation owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will be free today. This policy is implemented to commemorate National Transportation Day.

“Happy National Transportation Day on 24 April,” said Pramono in a post on his Instagram account, viewed on Thursday (23/4/2026).

“The DKI Jakarta Government, to welcome National Transportation Day, will provide facilities in the form of free rides,” he continued.

Pramono hopes that by making public transportation free, it can change public habits. He wants the community to become more accustomed to using public transport in their daily activities.

“Why are we providing this? Because the Jakarta government wants the community to become more accustomed to using public transportation facilities owned by the Provincial Government of Jakarta,” he stated.
