Hoops + Health Youth Basketball Festival 2026 held at Jakarta Senior High School 21, organised by SunLife Indonesia to promote healthy and active lifestyles among the youth through basketball on Saturday, 23 May. Beyond Sport representative Fred Fikouhi-T Turner said basketball has the power to strengthen communities and expand access to healthy lifestyles for young people. “Basketball has the ability to unite communities and create positive social impact. Together with SunLife Indonesia, we are proud to see Hoops + Health evolve into a movement that provides broader access to sports and healthy living for Indonesian youth,” he said. SunLife Indonesia’s Managing Director Albertus Wiroyo stated in a Jakarta statement on Tuesday that the event is part of the Hoops + Health program, which has been running since 2023. “Through the Hoops + Health Youth Basketball Festival, SunLife aims to create space for young people to grow actively, healthily, and confidently,” he said. The festival features 3x3 basketball tournaments for communities, 5x5 inter-school competitions, coaching clinics, community basketball games, and financial literacy education for students, teachers, and parents. This year, SunLife Indonesia is renovating basketball courts at five Jakarta high schools to expand access to sports facilities for students and school communities. The Hoops + Health program is run in collaboration with Beyond Sport as part of a regional initiative across Asia using sports to promote health and positive social impact. The festival is open to the public free of charge. The Hoops + Health program was first launched in Indonesia in 2023 as part of SunLife and Beyond Sport’s regional initiative. Following the successful revitalisation of community basketball courts in Depok in 2024 and supporting over 30 schools through basketball equipment donations and the Hoops + Health 3x3 Challenge in 2025, this year SunLife is expanding its impact through high school court renovations in Jakarta.
