An honorary teacher at SDN Brabe 1 in Probolinggo Regency, Muhammad Misbahul Huda (MMH), has been named a suspect by the Probolinggo District Prosecutor’s Office for allegedly holding a concurrent position as a Village Local Facilitator (PLD).

The dual employment allegedly caused state losses of up to Rp118 million, as Misbahul received salaries from two sources both funded by the state budget.

The suspect designation was made after prosecutors discovered provisions in the village facilitator employment contract prohibiting contract recipients from holding other employment funded by the national budget (APBN), regional budgets (APBD), or village budgets (APBDes).

A similar prohibition was also stipulated in his contract as a non-permanent teacher, which did not permit employment agreements with other institutions if both positions were funded by state money.

Head of the Intelligence Section at the Probolinggo District Prosecutor’s Office, Taufik Eko Purwanto, explained that these provisions were clearly set out in the employment agreements for each position held by the suspect.

“The state losses incurred, based on calculations by the Audit Supervision Team of the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office, amount to approximately Rp118 million,” said Taufik on Thursday (12 February).

Following his designation as a suspect, Misbahul was detained by the investigating prosecutors’ team under an arrest warrant and placed at the Class IIB Kraksaan State Detention Centre.

However, in a recent development, a neighbour said Misbahul had returned home. The neighbour stated that he was released from detention after the case went viral among the public.

The Probolinggo District Prosecutor’s Office has not yet responded regarding Misbahul’s release.
