Honor X80i Debuts as the First Phone to Use Dimensity 6500 Chipset
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Honor X80i is the latest addition to Honor’s X series, debuting with the new MediaTek Dimensity 6500 chipset. According to a report from GSMArena on Thursday, this makes the Honor X80i the first phone in the world to be equipped with this chip. Interestingly, the Dimensity 6500 chipset itself has not yet been officially announced by MediaTek. However, based on information from Honor, it can be concluded that this chip features an eight-core CPU with 2x Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.6GHz alongside 6x Cortex-A55 units at 2.0GHz. It is also confirmed that the chip is equipped with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, similar to the Dimensity 6400 and its predecessor. For peak brightness, this smartphone can reach 6,500 nits. The device can be configured with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, and it has protection against water and dust ingress (IP66). Regarding the camera, the rear features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, along with an unspecified secondary sensor and LED flash. For power, the phone comes with a 7,000mAh battery, which, according to Honor’s internal testing, claims that the 7,000mAh battery in the X80i can last up to 22 hours of video playback. This large battery supports 45W fast wired charging. In terms of operating system, Honor relies on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, which also supports Honor’s artificial intelligence (AI) features. The Honor X80i is available in black, green, pink, and white colours. Prices start from 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rp4.9 million) for the base 8/128GB variant and go up to 2,799 Yuan (approximately Rp6.9 million) for the 12/512GB version. The device is already listed on Honor’s official online store in China, with the first shipments scheduled for 10 April 2026. It is not yet known whether Honor will release this phone in the global market or limit sales to China.
