Jakarta — Honor has unveiled detailed specifications of its latest concept smartphone, the “Robot Phone,” which was previously introduced earlier this year and is planned for launch in the second half of 2026.

According to Tech Crunch, the smartphone is equipped with a moveable camera arm that functions like a robot and can respond to various situations without direct user command.

Honor claims the robotic camera possesses personality and is capable of performing gestures such as nodding or shaking its head, and can even dance in rhythm with music.

Users can interact with the phone’s assistant through text or voice input. In a demonstration presented by Honor, a user requested clothing suggestions, and the robotic camera responded with head movements to recommend clothing options.

The Honor Robot Phone also introduces the Spinshot feature, which allows the camera to rotate up to 90 or 180 degrees to produce cinematic-style photography. Additionally, the robotic camera supports AI-based object tracking, enabling it to follow user movements during video calls.

Honor has developed its own micro-motor to control the robotic camera’s movement. The company states it has applied several techniques commonly used in foldable phones to make the camera more robust whilst enabling a four-degree-of-freedom gimbal stabilisation system integrated into the phone’s chassis.

Honor also stated that the robotic arm uses material identical to the hinge on the Honor Magic V6, with tensile strength reaching 2,800 MPa.
