Honor Magic9 set to launch; price and specification leaks revealed
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Honor is preparing to launch its latest flagship smartphone series, the Magic9, which is scheduled to be officially introduced on 28 September 2026 in Beijing. Ahead of the launch, Honor has revealed several key features of the device, while some specifications and prices currently stem from reports and leaks that have not yet been confirmed by the company.
The Honor Magic9 series is expected to bring improvements to the camera, display, performance, and battery capacity sectors. The lineup is anticipated to consist of the Magic9, Magic and Magic9 Pro Max, and the Magic9 Super Edition.
Through its official website, Honor has announced that the launch event for the Magic9 Series will take place on 28 September 2026 in Beijing, China. Prior to the event, Honor has been running a reservation programme via Honor Mall since August. However, the official prices for the new devices can only be confirmed after the launch event takes place.
Consequently, information regarding prices circulating before 28 September should be treated as estimates and cannot be regarded as official pricing.
Square-shaped 55 MP selfie camera
One of the features confirmed by Honor is a square-shaped front-facing camera with a 55-megapixel resolution. This camera utilises technology known as Agile Eye. Honor stated that the square design provides a wider field of view compared to the circular or pill-shaped front cameras commonly used in smartphones. This feature is confirmed to be available on both the Magic9 and Magic9 Pro Max.
The use of a square-shaped front camera is one of the most prominent design updates in the Magic9 series. Honor has also partnered with ARRI, a company renowned in the camera and cinematography industry, to develop the Magic9 Series camera system.
Honor stated that the series will feature a cinematic camera system with ARCC Cinema Mode. This feature supports various video production tools such as LogC3, peak focusing, and false colour monitoring. For the Magic9 Pro Max, circulating reports suggest the presence of two 200 MP cameras. Honor itself has confirmed the use of 200 MP camera technology and introduced a 500 mm teleconverter for the Magic9 series.
Display specifications
For the standard Magic9 model, reports from Digital Chat Station, cited by ANTARA, suggest the device will feature a 6.37-inch LTPS display with a resolution of 2,664 x 1,236 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the Magic9 Pro Max is expected to use a screen of approximately 6.8 inches with LTPO technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. These specifications are still based on leaker reports and have not been fully confirmed by Honor.
Performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite
In terms of performance, the Magic9 is said to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the Magic9 Pro Max is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. However, information regarding these chipsets is still based on reports from Digital Chat Station cited by several technology media outlets. As the official launch is not until 28 September, final specifications must await Honor’s announcement.
Battery capacity is one of the most interesting aspects of the Magic9 series. According to circulating information, the standard Magic9 is expected to carry an 8,000 mAh battery, while the Magic9 Pro Max is said to have a battery of approximately 8,800 mAh. Both are also reported to support fast charging. Furthermore, the Magic9 Super Edition is rumoured to feature a battery of up to 11,000 mAh. This model is also reported to use a cooling system with an internal fan to help maintain device temperature during heavy workloads. This information remains preliminary and has not been fully confirmed by Honor.

As of 18 September 2026, Honor has not announced the official prices for the Magic9 Series. Honor has only confirmed the launch schedule for 28 September and opened a reservation programme ahead of the event. Therefore, price figures circulating on various technology sites and media should not be used as a benchmark.
