Honor Magic 9 and Magic 9 Pro Max specifications revealed ahead of debut

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Details of the specifications of the Honor Magic 9 and Magic 9 Pro Max smartphones have surfaced ahead of their launch, which will take place in China on 28 September 2026.

According to a Gizmochina report on Monday (14/9) local time, the information was shared by leaker Digital Chat Station.

The Honor Magic 9 features a compact design with a 6.37-inch LTPS display. The screen has a resolution of 2,664 x 1,236 pixels and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

Honor has used thin bezels with rounded screen corners. The phone also has a dedicated AI button and a camera shutter button.

Turning to the rear, the camera module design of the Magic 9 has changed compared with the Magic 8 Pro. Honor has abandoned the circular module in favour of a large horizontal camera module.

The main camera uses a 200-megapixel sensor measuring 1/1.4 inches with an f/1.9 aperture. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel f/2.0 ultrawide camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, an f/2.6 aperture, and 3.5x optical zoom capability.

In terms of performance, the Magic 9 is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. As for power, the phone is equipped with an 8,000 mAh battery supporting 80W fast charging via cable and 50W wirelessly.

Honor has also equipped the Magic 9 with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor placed under the display. The Magic 9 has also obtained IP68, IP69, and IP69K durability certifications.

Its front camera has the same specifications as the Magic 9, namely a 55-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture in a square format. The AI button and camera shutter button are also available on the Pro Max model.

For the rear cameras, the Magic 9 Pro Max relies on a 200-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and an f/1.57 aperture. In addition, it is fitted with a 50-megapixel f/2.0 ultrawide camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and an f/2.6 aperture.

In terms of performance, the Pro Max model will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. This chipset is Qualcomm’s flagship platform, manufactured using a 2-nanometer fabrication process.

The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max also carries a larger battery with a capacity of 8,800 mAh. Its charging supports 100W via cable and 80W wirelessly.

For security, in addition to the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, Honor has added 3D face recognition. The phone is also equipped with two 1216 speakers to produce stereo sound.
