Honor Holds Smartphone Prices in Indonesia Despite High Memory Costs
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The smartphone vendor Honor claims it has not adjusted the prices of its devices in Indonesia despite the weakening rupiah against the US dollar and the technology industry facing global memory supply pressures.
Head of Public Relations at PT Trinova Digital Indonesia, Honor’s distributor in Indonesia, Aryo Meidianto, stated that Honor device prices have remained stable since their initial launch until now.
“From the launch of the Honor X7d and X6c until now, which is about a month, we have not made any price adjustments at all,” said Aryo to KompasTekno after the Honor X7d and X6c Media Experience event in South Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
According to Aryo, one reason for the stable device prices is that Honor had calculated the amount of stock to be marketed from the start, so there is no need for reordering in the near future.
With this strategy, Honor claims that the rise in the US dollar or global situations such as trade wars do not directly impact their device prices in Indonesia.
In fact, Honor states it has no plans to raise device prices in the near future. On the contrary, this company, which made a comeback in February 2025, is opening the possibility of price reductions at certain moments.
“There is absolutely no price adjustment. What might happen instead is a price reduction later,” said Aryo.
According to him, price reductions are usually carried out during specific periods such as seasonal campaigns, long weekends, Eid holidays, up to the end of the year.
“Usually, we offer price reductions of Rp 100,000 to Rp 200,000,” added Aryo.
Amid industry pressures, Honor is also bringing the Honor X7d variant with large storage capacity, namely 512 GB, to Indonesia with a price tag of Rp 4.5 million.
This move is quite attractive considering that global memory prices have been rising in recent times.
Honor views the need for large storage capacity as increasingly important, especially for professional users and consumers who store many photos, videos, and applications on their devices.
In addition to large memory, the Honor X7d also boasts a jumbo 6,500 mAh battery.
“This battery is said to last for 46 hours of calls, or 30 hours of internet browsing, or 30 hours of taking photos or playing videos,” said Aryo.
If depleted, the battery can be charged via USB-C with support for 35-watt fast charging. The phone can reach full charge (0-100 percent) in 95 minutes.
“This battery can last for 5 years, and after that, its health remains at 80 percent,” said Aryo.
