HONOR Calls for Open Collaboration in New AI Ecosystem Vision as Opportunities Grow for AI Devices

To create a truly integrated interface, HONOR is pursuing an open AI device ecosystem strategy via the HONOR AI Connect Platform. In Barcelona, Spain, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - On 2 March, the global AI devices ecosystem company HONOR outlined its AI ecosystem design in a ConnectAI panel discussion at the opening session of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026. On that occasion, HONOR revealed its strategy to build an open device ecosystem through the HONOR AI Connect Platform, which will soon integrate more than 20,000 AI services by the end of 2026.

Through this strategy, HONOR is accelerating its transformation from a smartphone manufacturer to a leading global AI device ecosystem company. The core element of this transformation lies in the HONOR AI Connect Platform, which has been updated by opening HONOR’s core AI capabilities to all ecosystem partners. The approach goes beyond mere device connectivity, aiming to create deeper collective intelligence and to offer a Personal Avatar for users within a cross-brand device ecosystem.

In the panel discussion, Fang Fei, President, Products, HONOR, spoke with Philippe Lucas, Executive Vice President Partnerships, Content and Devices, Orange Innovation, about the convergence of AI, devices, and connectivity. With the theme ‘breaking walls’, HONOR emphasised its commitment to collaborating with a range of partners, such as Orange, to broaden the range of new devices, including educational devices, smart home devices, audio products, devices for pets, and toys.

To illustrate this vision, Fang Fei compared it to a history of evolution. He explained that the industry is on the cusp of a ‘Cambrian Explosion’ in the context of AI devices. Just as the evolutionary explosion millions of years ago produced new forms of life, the world is now witnessing rapid and massive growth in new smart devices. This evolution will bring a variety of AI forms, from Embodied AI such as the HONOR Robot Phone to a range of companion AI devices co-developed with partners.

A deeper transformation is also occurring through the development of distributed technology. Whereas previously human–computer interaction was limited to a single screen, distributed technology now removes the hardware’s physical boundaries.

This shift is evident in two key trends: ‘decoupling’ in smart hardware, where devices evolve into peripherals tailored for various use cases, and ‘ubiquitization’ at AI access points, introducing new interaction methods tailored to real-life contexts.

To create a truly seamless experience, HONOR is pursuing an open AI device ecosystem through the HONOR AI Connect Platform. In this ecosystem, the main interface is the AI Agent – the user’s digital twin that appears across devices. Thanks to this open platform, the digital twin can understand the user’s intent on the mobile phone and forward that understanding to connected cars, smart homes, or service robots, delivering a smooth and intelligent experience across devices.

These next-generation devices also abandon conventional form factors. This reflects the Augmented Human Intelligence (AHI) concept championed by HONOR, which transforms devices from passive tools into proactive partners. One example is the HONOR Robot Phone, an innovative device that combines smartphone technology with robotics. This device can function as a personal cameraman, automatically tracking and recording video, allowing users to focus more on the moments they are experiencing.

At the official launch event held on 1 March, HONOR also introduced the AI-native foldable smartphone, the ultra-thin HONOR Magic V6, alongside the latest generation of PCs, tablets, and other innovative devices.
