Honor and Oppo reportedly testing 100MP 1:1 front camera

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Honor and Oppo are reportedly testing a 100MP 1:1 front camera for their upcoming lineup, according to technology leak source Digital Chat Station. GSM Arena reported on Saturday that Honor is testing a 100MP front camera with a 1:1 format for its flagship Honor Magic 9 series. The leak indicates Honor is testing the OVA0B sensor, measuring 1/1.8 inches, which will be cropped to a 1:1 format. Additionally, the Honor Magic 9 is said to feature a 200MP main camera paired with a 64MP periscope telephoto lens. Honor is reportedly testing several 200MP sensors for the main camera, including the OV52A and OV52B at 1/1.28 inches, as well as the larger OVB0D at 1/1.12 inches. The 1:1 format allows users to take selfies in both portrait and landscape orientations without rotating the device. Moreover, a larger 1:1 sensor can provide a wider field of view, allowing more people and background to be captured in the frame.
