Hong Kong to launch various programmes to celebrate 29th anniversary of return to China

Hong Kong (ANTARA) - To commemorate the 29th anniversary of its return to China, Hong Kong will launch a variety of engaging programmes. Organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government and various local community sectors, these offerings and activities span public transport, culture, arts, recreation, culinary, and retail, creating a festive atmosphere for residents throughout the city.

In the public transport sector, all tram routes will provide free services to passengers from 1 to 3 July.

The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) will distribute 71,000 single-journey tickets through a lucky draw on 1 July, alongside offering discounted rates for the Airport Express service. Additionally, free services on several ferry routes will also be provided to the public on 1 July.

In the culture, arts, and recreation sector, the public will gain free access to several paid recreational and cultural facilities managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, as well as the Hong Kong Wetland Park on 1 July. On that day, they can also enjoy free admission to specific exhibitions at the M+ Museum and all thematic exhibitions at the Hong Kong Palace Museum located in the West Kowloon Cultural District.

As for the culinary and consumption sector, more than 1,000 restaurants and businesses are expected to provide dining discounts on 1 July.

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Jockey Club will host a special horse racing event at the Sha Tin Racecourse on 1 July. Peak Tram, Ngong Ping 360, Ocean Park Hong Kong, and Tai Kwun will also provide various ticket promotions.
