Hong Kong to launch various programmes to celebrate 29th anniversary of return to China

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, along with various local community sectors, is organising a range of offers and activities to celebrate the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China. These initiatives span public transport, culture, arts, recreation, dining, and retail, bringing a festive spirit to residents across the city. In the public transport sector, all tram routes will provide free services for passengers from 1 to 3 July. The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) will distribute 71,000 single-journey tickets through a prize draw on 1 July and will also offer discount promotions for the Airport Express service. Additionally, free services on several ferry routes will be available to the public on 1 July. In the culture, arts, and recreation sector, the public will enjoy free access to several paid recreational and cultural facilities managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, as well as to the Hong Kong Wetland Park on 1 July. On that day, they can also enjoy free admission to certain exhibitions at the M+ Museum and all thematic exhibitions at the Hong Kong Palace Museum in the West Kowloon Cultural District. For the dining and consumption sector, more than 1,000 restaurants and businesses are expected to offer dining discounts on 1 July. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Jockey Club will hold a special horse racing event at the Sha Tin Racecourse on 1 July. The Peak Tram, Ngong Ping 360, Ocean Park Hong Kong, and Tai Kwun will also provide various ticket promotions.
