Honda to Debut Compact Electric Super-One at GIIAS 2026
PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) will use the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 to debut the Super-One in Southeast Asia. Communication Strategy Sub-Division Head Yulian Karfili stated in Jakarta on Monday (14/7) that the Honda Super-One represents the next evolution of the brand’s culture, bringing the fun-to-drive character typical of Honda products while affirming the company’s direction in the electrification era.
The media were given a close-up look at the Super-One last month, revealing a striking design and colour scheme for the compact electric vehicle. The design adopts a sporty appearance and promises an enjoyable performance experience for users in Indonesia. In terms of performance, the Honda Super-One inherits the spirit of the City Turbo II. The vehicle embodies Honda’s boldness in creating a compact car that prioritises expressive, playful, and fun-to-drive qualities for both driver and passengers. This is reflected in its wide stance, blister fenders, broad tyres, and a very assertive visual character.
Regarding design language, Honda stated it drew inspiration from the youth culture of Harajuku. The Honda design team observed the younger generation’s interest in analogue objects such as cassettes and vinyl, which involve process, warmth, and a personal feel, and used this understanding to make the Super-One feel modern yet emotionally engaging. Consequently, Honda did not prioritise a digital impression like many contemporary vehicles. Instead, the company developed the car to feel engineered but still designed to be warm, personal, and close to the driver.
To deliver a more aggressive driving performance, Honda included a Boost Mode feature. The company claims this feature can increase the electric motor’s output from 47 kW to 70 kW when activated. Interestingly, beyond boosting power, the feature also produces a sporty engine sound and changes the instrument panel display. This fierce performance is supported by a relatively minimal weight for its class, with Honda claiming the Super-One is the lightest in its segment at just 1,090 kilogrammes.
To enhance the intimate driving experience, the Honda Super-One is equipped with five selectable driving modes: ECON, CITY, NORMAL, SPORT, and BOOST, along with a Single Pedal Control feature in CITY mode. For safety, the vehicle comes with Honda Sensing, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, Auto High-Beam, and Lane Keeping Assist System. The Super-One also features six airbags and a standard G-CON + ACE body structure. Despite detailing these specifications ahead of the largest automotive exhibition outside China, PT Honda Prospect Motor remains tight-lipped about the Super-One’s price until GIIAS. The GIIAS 2026 exhibition will take place at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, from 30 July to 9 August 2026.
